RPP Chair Thapa welcomes agreement

Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairperson Kamal Thapa welcomed the recent agreement between the government and Netra Bikram Chand-led group. It was a welcoming step for a rebel side to enter mainstream politics for peace and political stability, he said, adding however that the group must submit its weapons to the state to ensure its peace.
“Only words saying it enters peaceful politics means nothing. But it must ensure that it enters peaceful politics by submitting its weapons to the state,” he said while addressing a national gathering of Media Nepal, an organisation of journalists affiliated with the RPP that began from Friday in Butwal.
On the occasion, RPP leader and former minister Dipak Bohora complained that fact and impartial news did not find their place in media, which has been a victim of factionalism.
